Train as a Professional Stress Therapist.
12-Month Professional Diploma in Stress Therapy with The Association of Stress
Therapists.
The Association of Stress Therapists was founded in 1991 with the intention of helping reduce stress through stress therapy and by training caring
people as Stress Therapists.     Stress Therapy is a cognitive behavioural therapy that utilises the power of relaxation, biofeedback and cognitive restructuring.   Working
with your therapist, you will discover your unique stress triggers and be able to draw on a portfolio of stress management techniques that will help
you to unwind your unique stress response.
We go further by helping you to uncover, deep down, whatever it is that is triggering your stress.   From here, we can support you in making choices that will allow you to change
unhelpful thought patterns into more helpful ones.   By doing this we can help you stop stress at its source.  Managing your stress levels
can be a very fine balancing act.   We help you to manage your stress by helping you to become more aware of what is happening at a conscious and
subconscious level.
You see, stress starts in your mind when you perceive a situation to be threatening.   This decision, which we often make automatically, makes
it difficult for us to understand why we feel or act the way we do.    Stress therapy can shine a light in that darkness; making you more
aware of why you act or feel the way you do, and more importantly, empowering you with the tools to change how you feel and freeing you from the symptoms associated
with chronic stress.
This is what our logo represents - the two faces represent the conscious and subconscious mind and the diamond represents your awareness and the wisdom
of working with your body rather than pushing against it.
As people, we are designed to deal with short-term stress.    The normal stress response kicks in when we perceive a challenge, prioritise our
resources to deal with the challenge and then we relax so that our body has a change to learn, adjust and regroup.     Chronic stress is the prolonged response to a stressful event that lasts longer than 6 weeks.     You can be chronically stressed when you find
yourself moving from stress to stress without giving yourself a break or chance to relax and regroup.     Research has demonstrated that chronic
stress causes illness, pain and distress.
